I signed up for HSBC a while back. There's one downfall for this bank. It takes forever for them to activate the account. Even after I activated the account, I still recieved e-mails saying I need to send them a proof of address.
Once everything was settled, nothing else has happened and thier rates are pretty good compared to the rest.
HSBC are a very large international bank and relative newcomers to the US. They bring with them a global reach, good online facilities, and a very good online savings rate. However, my branch does not have many native English speakers which can be a problem. I don't know if this is a trend across other branches.
Hi there it's a good technique to know the popularity of your business or bank. I am sure that the banks like HSBC, ICICI, Bank of America, Barclays banks would gain higher votes.
If you do not chose a banking product (Ie, pay the tax preparer up front) then the bank will not have access to intercept any refund.
However, the best thing to do is contact HSBC bank and deal with them on this matter. If it's to abusive over the phone, then send a copy of all the information in writing.
