Money Markets Under $500 For Jan 2009.

Surprisingly, there are a lot of them out there if you don’t have a lot of money to invest right off the bat.
Bank of Internet — 3.45% APY — $1 min.
3 star / 5 star Bankrate.com rating
Venture Bank Direct — 3.30% APY — $1 min.
1 star / 5 star Bankrate.com rating
GMAC Bank — 3.25% APY — $1 min.
4 star / 5 star Bankrate.com rating
iGObanking.com — 3.08% APY — $1 min.
4 star / 5 star Bankrate.com rating
E*Trade — 3.01% APY — $1 min.
2 star / 5 star Bankrate.com rating
As you can see, many of them have lower ratings. If you’re concerned with Bankrate.com ratings, I would consider GMAC and iGObanking. Both of these banks have had consistent rates of the past 6 - 12 month. Then again, as long as you keep less than $250,000 in your accounts, you have nothing to worry about since all accounts are FDIC insured.
