Coulee Bank 5.01% APY Checking

If you’re in the market for a high yield checking account, you’ll want to check out Coulee Bank’s 5.01% APY checking deal for balances up to $25,000 (as of 1/28/09).  In addition to this account, you also receive up to $20 in ATM fees refunds per month.  This isn’t bad if you ask me!

To qualify for this account, you must –

• Make at least 10 debt card POS transactions per “cycle”.
• You must receive e-statements.
• You have to set up at least one direct deposit or one auto debit monthly.

The defintion of “cycle” starts on the last business day of a month and ends on the second to last business day of the next month.  All requirements much be complete and posted in that cycle to be considered for the 5.01%.  If you don’t meet the requirements, you receive the lower rate or .30%.

This account has no monthly fees and no minimum balance.  If your account is above $25,000, you’ll get a 1.01% APY.  Must have at least $50 to open up an account.  Personal accounts only.  This account is FDIC insured and has a 4 star out of 5 star Bankrate.com safe and sound rating.

   This is a great account form Coulee Bank. I like that it is offered nationwide, unlike most other accounts.
