NorthEast Community Bank Top CD Rates

I want to thank BankDeals Blog for finding this one.

NorthEast Community Bank is offering some very competitive rates on most of its CDs.  According to the bank, anyone can open up an account, since they have an online process.

Below are the rates that are effective 2/27/2009 according to the website:

  • 3 months:  2.02% APY
  • 6 months:  2.28% APY
  • 12 months:  2.79% APY
  • 18 months:  3.05% APY
  • 24 months:  3.05% APY
  • 30 months:  2.79% APY
  • 36 months:  2.79% APY
  • 48 months:  2.79% APY
  • 60 months:  2.79% APY

The minimum balance required will depend on the CD you open.  A 3 month requires a $5,000 deposit while anything 13 moth and above require $500.

Alliant Credit Union CD Rates

If you’re looking for short term CDs, you may want to check out Alliant Credit Union’s short term CD rates.  As of March 11, 2009, they are offering very competitive rates that do fall into the top 5.

Alliant Credit Union does have certain restrictions to join which can be found here.

Here are the rates as of 3/11/09:

12-17m:  3% APY (up to 25k) — 3.15% (25k and up)

18-23m:  3% APY (up to 25k) — 3.15% (25k and up)

24-35m:  3.15% APY (up to 25k) — 3.30% (25k and up)

36-47m:  3.60% APY (up to 25k) — 3.75% (25k and up)

48-60m:  3.85% APY (up to 25k) — 4.00% (25k and up)

All CDs require a minimum deposit of at least $1,000.

All deposits are insured by the NCUA, a national credit union administration, a US government agency.

Top CD Rates for March 2009

Rates continue to drop just a little but there haven’t been many changes in regard for this week.  Below are the top rates for each length as of March 10, 2009.

  • 3 month:  Umbrella - 1.95% APY
  • 6 month:  Nexity - 2.51% APY
  • 1 year:  GMAC - 2.95% APY
  • 18 month:  Umbrella - 2.95% APY
  • 2 year:  New Dominion Direct - 3.01% APY
  • 3 year:  Flagstar - 3.15% APY
  • 5 year:  Intervest - 3.66% APY

US Bank CD Rates

If you’re looking for a long term CD rate that pretty competitive, US Bank released their CD rates on March 9, 2009 and they are pretty attractive.  I would recommend that if you are interested that you jump on this quickly because banks drop rates fast if the demand is high enough.

Here are the rates as of 3/9/09:

  • 13 months:  2.15% APY
  • 37 months:  3.00% APY
  • 59 months:  4.00% APY

All CDs do require a $1,000 minimum deposit.  Interest is paid annually.

US Bank offers more than just CD rates.  From mortgages to savings accounts, they do have a lot of accounts worth looking at but in particular, the CD rates are the best right now.
