Savings Bank
Security
Savings Bank is one of the largest savings institutions
based in the state of Kansas.
Security
Savings and Loan Association was founded in 1898 in downtown
Salina, Kansas. In 1989, Donald H. Bell, Sr. and his wife
Faith acquired ownership of the Bank and merged the institution
with their existing institution-Security Savings and Loan
in Garden City, Kansas-to create a single financial institution
focused on residential lending. Soon after, the Bank opened
an office in Olathe and quickly became an active construction
and residential lender in the Kansas City market. In 1995,
the Bank acquired United Savings Association in Wichita,
positioning the institution for growth in the largest
city in Kansas.
