I had a build to order checking account with compass. I added free "overdraft" protection on the account. It is not really what they make you out to believe it is. You have to call up there within 7 days to use it or they charge you 7 dollars a day for 30 days. They do not have it automated like the rest of the world. I have asked them to close the account ASAP after finding this out but they would not. They have since had a machine calling the number I gave to them when opening the account saying it is a courtesy call when talking to a human which is a lie. I filed a report with the bbb.org stating there is nothing in the non-disclosure stating that I would like "courtesy" calls. Julio at 480-403-7892 for Compass said he would take the number out of the machine. The machine quit calling after 48 hours after he put in a request but now the machine is calling again after 7 business days which the bbb complaint is not update-able. Seems like these guys at compass have had to deal with the bbb.org before to not start calling again until after 7 business days. You also can not contact the local branch by calling them on the phone. This is a shady bank and stay far far away. I have never had problems with banks until I opened until I opened a Compass account.

Beware. Opening a account with Compass bank will result in hidden fee's and charges. If your are a struggling family beware. How they process check's and charges will always result in overdraft fee and charges. 9 out of 10 people I have spoke to have now or have had a account with Compass and everyone has the same story to tell. Save your money and go someplace else.
