The Bank was originally organized by the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) and commenced operations in June of 2000. The Bank was established as a specialty bank to serve the insurance company members of NAMIC, their employees and independent insurance agencies. In April of 2005, the Bank merged with its Maryland-based thrift holding company, Federal City Bancorp, Inc. American Partners Bank has operations in Carmel, Indiana, loan production offices in Carmel, Indiana and Silver Spring, Maryland, and it's administrative headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland.
